I was streaming TIMJ away from laptop and came check who'd jammed Jive Talkin', well well, what a surprise Doc! Your definition on the BeeGee's cracked me up (and I agree)!!!
@BladeRunner Ah you know me Digger, full of surprises! Had about 4 other Jams lined up and this just got under my skin. As I've said, I'm not a 'BG' per se, but as a lover of music, you can't deny their massive influence...and of course, teeth. Thank you for endorsing my descriptive talents...I suspect I won't be asked to do thier biography.. ;-D
LOVE your memoires! Keep 'em coming! I also really liked how you managed to get " Starless & Bible Black" & the disco dance floor in the same sentence! Finally...I suppose it was 'prog' rested at that time to join in the fun, the dancin' & the girls...moving onto marriage & kids, then, when everything is settled.........welcome back prog again!!
@kfa444 Right on Kev! Yep, those lads have indeed earned their spot in musical history and I kinda' grudgingly admire them (I use that adverb to maintain my prog credibility... ;-D). I'm just mellowing out with age...dear god, some of the toons that I smile at on the radio...and yes, stuck on the precipe of 199!! I did notice that t'other day. Like your goodself, I didn't expect to have quite so many groupies...my plan of awarding Nectar points, seems to be working...
@debutch Cheers, Poet/Lyricist Extraordinaire! Aye, Starless & disco in the same breath...what the hell's happenin' to me?!? You are so right DC, life is a revolving door, is it not. Come in as a dribbling baby/proto-proggist, leave as a dribbling baby/Neo-Classical proggist. I have often thought about songs to listen to on my deathbed (only when I'm in a bright and cheery frame of mind, obviously). Where's that damn nurse with my pills... ;-D
Hey, 21, it was '75, you were young, drink and maybe other intxicants were involved. You can be forgiven for straying of the one true path. Especially as them trixie laydeez was involved! :) Long as you saw the error of your ways, did due penitence, and came back to the fold, I guess we can forgive you. :)
@21schizoid Great jamming sir, one of my favourite movies and soundtracks - can't go wrong with Yvonne Elliman, A Fifth of Beethoven, Manhattan Skyline and of course the mighty Brothers Gibb. Just too young to have the undoubted pleasure of dancing to this in a discotheque but managed to finally perfect the Travolta Russian Cossack dance moves after many painful attempts. I'm now in a wheelchair Brian Potter style but in a strange way, it was worth the effort...
@lynn200 Steady now Lynn, I don't want to be responsible for some unwanton act of sexual misconduct on your part, simply because I played da' Gibbs... :-D
@Phyl Thank you for your forgiveness, Phylsta'. I somehow knew a damned decent cove such as yourself, would understand that my temporary prog downfall, was caused by dazzling disco lights and starry-eyed vixens. I have performed 8 'hail progs' and believe the matter should now be closed... ;-D
@RossCampbell Haha. Cheers Ross. Yvonne Elliman...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4VTz7gSHds ... always one of my faves. Funnily enough, I caught myself in the cossacks just the other day...that alone, may have prompted my BGs Jam. I would expect nothing else of a fine upstan...er, sit-downing gentleman such as your goodself, to accept his infirmity with such immense spirit. Now excuse me, I'm off to watch my Ironside DVD... ;-D
@natyblooming No denying it Nates. I am close to my prime. However, at least no memory problems thus...what was I saying and why am I at the top of the stairs?? ;-D
@21schizoid Re: your comment on my previous Jam. Guess what? More 'Strawbs' now, but in the guise of 'Ciggy Barlust & the Whales from Venus'. Over at my Jam now.
@lindatee Me neither Jeanie. It just popped on t'radio and I thought it'd be a nice wee Jam number. It is before the 'very high voices' phase and all the better for it... :-D
@21schizoid hahahaha...you think that I am that crazy? Well I am crazy but not that crazy...Singing extreme falsetto...can you hear the sound coming? haha
