What I love most about his approach to music his not only his willingness to try things but to be so happy to dismiss his hipster image. He proves you can be serious and playful simultaneously.
@Manchesterlive It's mighty fine. Saw him live in '96, I think it was; either at The Academy or The Apollo. Think it was the former. My memory's pretty shot to shit. But I do remember that he was utterly brilliant and I was standing right at the front so I could see the sweat dripping onto his rhinestone buttons. One cool, cool dude... and as @simonp says, as playful as he is serious about what he does.
@AlicejustMay He looks as if he was a mere embryo in 96...it was good to see him eating in the video. Worryingly thin....The sweat dripping onto his rhinestone buttons is a great image. Great song too :)
I sooooo love this song, It's like his take on the Beach Boys. The lyrics are great too. I especially like "Crawling out from my landfill life" and "Saw her, fist pounding on a vending machine!" Just cool all around :D

Although it does sound very much like the song of a serial killer in cheery mood.
