Björn Skifs (the singer in blue swede) has also participated in ESC final no less then two times, this being the best one, from 1978: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4iSSEu8VdU One of my best buddies usually sings this on karaoke night, to everyones cheers.. also a classic esc moment when Björn forgets the lyrics early on in the first verse...
Blue Swede too?! I need to just adjust to the fact most European acts I know and love and had any kind of fame probably made their rounds on ESC. I actually didn't know who the original singer and writer were, OR that The Beatles released their first single the same day Dr. No was released, and I'm a big James Bond fan. Thank you for the fun facts and history!
Also, it's interesting to imagine Sweden the way you described it, before they had any well known bands or artists of their own. Several I really like have come from there and I never got the impression they came from such humble beginnings.
@shiningsun2k Thanks... I was also surprised about the bond thing when I first heard it... as well as the blue swede-abba mach up.. must be something in the stars. weird.
