That's spooky! I've just replaced my disappearing copy of Revolver, and 'For No One' was the song I'd just stopped listening to when I was interrupted....but I was thinking at the time, I must ask you if you think this needed remastering? I was horrified to be sent a remastered copy as it sounded perfect before :-( This is a wonderful song though. Always seems like Paul McCartney's 1st really mature love song -I wonder if he was really so distanced from it as he makes it sound??

I just love the French horn solo

Horn played by the great Alan Civil. Certainly the finest.

Yep, that French horn solo is excellent. Nice pick, 'Maniacs.

I always think that with this and 'And Your Bird Can Sing' being next to each other on Revolver, it's like the happiest sound in the world followed by the saddest. All that and Eleanor Rigby too. Beyond genius.

@alisonsghost I dont think he was distanced from it at all...he has shown before that he sometimes "fronts" when it comes to his feelings, no? (like when he commented on John´s murder, a comment which he later confessed was just out of shock). I think it is definitely a mature song. Definitely did not need remastering!

@pauseliveaction I have thought that too, not in those words, but it is definitely an emotional contrast between both songs! their brilliance has lawyers and lawyer, no?

@pauseliveaction jajaja ment to write layers and layers! It is 11 pm and I am tired...but I guess there were a lot of lawyers involved as well!!!! jajaja

True about the lawyers and the layers! Especially the layers. No matter how many times you hear a Beatles song, it feels like there's always something new there.

For No One, Here There, & Fixing a Hole never fail to take my breath away. I wish the vocal flourish on the lines between 1m34s & 1m44s in this demo youtu.be/gbY8wUprqMs had made it to the final take.
