A classic indeed. I was really excited about Prince in my first year at secondary school (when this came out). I bought loads of Prince in the following 18 months and then decided he was really uncool and sold it all to my friend Steven. One of my music collection regrets!

Interesting. I suppose a definition of influential 'black' music is very difficult to come by in that, apart from the skin colour, it spans so many genres.
