I didn't think I was going to like that, and I really did! A lot!

This album was first year of University for me, 'Red Heaven' (my favourite) was second year along with 'Star' by Belly. How is it going with your Chinese students?

Bukowski

@abigail.deeks My Chinese students are a delight, respectful, polite, energetic, conscientious, hard working, thoughtful, considerate and academically dedicated (plus their English is perfect). I'm going to clone them and then I shall have a perfect class of students; forever!! Mwaah ha ha!

I like it but the first album knocks it into a cocked hat

@Bukowski Ha ha, scary Vincent Price voice in my head there! I rather enjoy the journey to that point. Give me the cheeky buggers with no interest for a year and they will blossom with my nurture. I think that is why you do what you do and I taught the 'specials'. Glad that it is going well. What are you teaching them?

@Bukowski You are a clever clogs aren't you. I don't know Hamlet very well. Saw a very modern production of it at Stratford in the late '90s but have never studied it. English Romanticism I would really enjoy though. Have registered myself on a freebie OU course to try and exercise my brain back to good health. It is called 'Reception of Music in cross-cultural perspective'. Plan is to start Saturday as I am pill free then. x x

@abigail.deeks My clogs are clever; it's just the rest of me. (I've just typed that and thought to myself, 'good Mark E. Smith lyric') (yes; finally cracked). The OU course sounds brilliant. Well done. xx

@lindatee I haven't taught for 2 years and really miss it. It is all I have ever done; 6 years of Music in Secondary schools and 10 years in charge of music in Special schools(mostly EBD). Have done some supply and voluntary work but it is not the same. Are you in education?

7 years, 6 months ago

abigail.deeks

@Bukowski Yes, very good Professor Yaffle. I do believe you have cracked the 'good Mark E. Smith lyric'. It was bound to rub off eventually after so many years of appreciating The Fall and with such clever clogs too. x x

@abigail.deeks I used to be a designer until I had my kids and took 7 years off. I followed my son in to primary school and have been there since. I'm a teaching assistant (you know - the ones that twat Michael Gove wants to see lose ours jobs cos we make no worthwhile contrabution - grrr!) I used to be class based but this year I take interventions for yr 4 children all morning and do displays and resources in the afternoon. Don't you work now?

@abigail.deeks Well done for taking OU course - been thinkng bout it for years. Right better go before our universal dad @kemiladashdot catches me on the computer and stops my pocket money!

@lindatee The teaching assistants that I have had the pleasure of working with have been invaluable. I was a SENCO in a little village primary school for two years and we worked together very closely. I am glad that you are taking intervention groups. I know that some schools employ teachers for the job who don't know the kids so well and it doesn't work. I did a full time OU creative writing course in the first year of 'not working' and have an unfinished novel that I need to complete!

@lindatee The Open Learning courses are free and have no deadlines and offer a huge range of subjects. I am looking forward to starting mine :) x

@Bukowski You are very welcome. As a fiddle player I am impressed with their ability to dance and play. I find I congratulate myself if I manage to sing and play simultaneously! x

Have loved this song ever since I first heard it. Top Jam. (Also, further credit for making me look up a new word in 'lapidary').
