@Bukowski I think so. The Beatles are my Dad's 'favourite band' but I am in agreement with you that they hold the 'best band' title. Maybe it is because The Smiths were in my lifetime and at a time when I was very impressionable. Runners up would be My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth.
@abigail.deeks Excellent, just not what I had expected. I thought it would be something more 'hippy, dippy, tree-hugging, granola eating, dreadlock wearing'. Although I don't anyone who would cite Neil Young, Joni Mitchell to Beach House, Tame Impala as their all time favourite. I'm joshing.
