I am dating myself when I say that this song was released in the year of my birth. It is regarded as an important song that helped shape rock and roll. It was a number 1 R&B; song that crossed over to the the pop chart. According to Wikepedia " It was an important record in several respects: it crossed the boundaries between gospel singing and blues, its lyrics pushed the limits of what was deemed acceptable, and it appealed to many white as well as black listeners, peaking at #17 on the pop charts. The Dominoes were an influential R&B; group in their time.Clyde McPhatter was the lead singer who left the group and formed the Drifters. He was replaced by Jackie Wilson.
