Actually this is pre- e-mu days... the original was produced by Bobby O in New York. So that's yer actual synthesised cowbell, rather than, um, an emulated synthesised cowbell.
hmm. i'll give you the cowbell, but i think the rest of it, more or less, involved a sampler. how else did they do the weird stuff with bits of the voice?
I just put this on and my cat ran over and started chewing the laptop enthusiastically. Also, I learnt today that Neil Tennant apparently said it was inspired by The Wasteland. Weird.
