Yes, everything you said about the music. Love it. Those strings and that outro, too. I'm not familiar with Sango though - dare I ask what views you're struggling with? I hope it's not something that'll taint my take on his music, but I can handle it. I checked out his Facebook page and learned he currently calls Grand Rapids, Michigan, my neck of the woods, home. Crazy I haven't heard more about him considering that.
@sshop this is a good summary: http://www.npr.org/2015/04/23/401723588/songs-we-love-ta-ku-love-again-feat-jmsn-and-sango
Ah, yes. There are several Christian artists I've liked over the years, including a couple I count among my favorites, but I can't tolerate it when it becomes too noticeable or preachy in the lyrics. The worst was when listening to an otherwise fantastic southern hip-hop album by G.R.I.T.S, I came to an interlude of a woman denouncing people for using dog or dawg as slang for "man". I couldn't believe it - they chose THAT as an issue to use valuable album space to address? Thanks for the link.
Also, I'm not a religious man myself, but came across the aforementioned bands I like when I accidentally landed on a local Christian rock station on the radio in my car back in like '99 and ended up liking a lot of the music and being pleasantly surprised that they played multiple songs I hadn't heard before in a row before realizing it wasn't my usual hard rock channel.
