dear mr tea you have made my day i worked with this band when i was but a wisp, willy[ real name sean] died a few years back, joey vasta the bass player is still going, kenny margolis [keys] had his own band ''lucky seven'' the uptown horns did the tours, all of them full throttle guys, great great live version, to hear willy sing stand by me was a thing of beauty , best post on here ever for me ..
@kingofmen Thanks mate, my old man owned the single on record which I now have. I love this live version of Willy, he's just Rock 'n' Roll personified. Did you work for them as a roadie?
no my cousin was the tour manager and i did the production and sound, it was a long time ago, but they were a real full on NYC rock and roll band, we got arrested all over scandinavia, then deported from norway, the manager at the time was a mob guy, the whole show was the real thing , and wily's voice when he was on it was special
a few years ago i looked high and low for anything from mink de ville , so this was a real bolt from the blue, such good memories for me, after we all got arrested, the band flew back to new york and the rest of us did the rest of the tour all over europe , just using up the plane tickets, good times ....
@kingofmen@HaveACuppaTea That's excellent to hear from you KofM, sorry to hear of Sean's demise, but thanks for your memories. Even from this video there's no doubt that this is the real thing. Look after yourself.
This is one of the reasons I love TIMJ... that you can get real great stories like this about the songs and the bands. Education is everywhere on this site!

He's a flesh & blood Dick Dastardly.

@kemiladashdot Yeah, dead ringer, he would have certainly played a good villain.

@HaveACuppaTea Yeh, totally cool, downside being followed by store detective every time you go to buy a pint of milk.
