The most bizarre Beatles-related thing I heard was that Paul McCartney (begetter of the Frog Chorus, lest we forget) jammed with the remaining Nirvana members in place of Cobain recently. If this had been April I'd have thought it was a great AFD joke... but it wasn't. And he wasn't bad. And he's not young. So... respect!
I watched that live, it was just sort of forgettable Fireman-ish stuff. He was good overall though and played unexpected stuff rather than doing Hey Jude with a pair of thumb erections.
It was more like McCartney with guest performers. People freaked out about it all day and then it was pretty much nothin! McCartney sayin "Pat Smear!" was pretty great.
