@debutch@MadameZia@Astromonkey I'm pretty sure it's why we've gravitated to a site like this; sharing music and memories, in addition to lightly ribbing one another in a humorous way. I do agree that music and my childhood, adolescence and twenty-something eras are the ones where singles, albums and concerts are more readily intertwined and my thirties and forties have been a mixture of new musical discovery and looking fondly to the past.
@PartyTearsFew I never kept a diary, either, as it felt like too much hard work. I did, however, keep a catalogue of my record collection from 1981 - 1985, until it became more of a chore than a delight. I found a book of song lyrics where I wrote what I thought I was hearing. How on earth I thought Phil Oakey was singing "push your legs behind", as opposed to "much too late to find", on 'Don't You Want Me'!
@debutch@MadameZia@Astromonkey Do you have any recollections of misheard song lyrics, where you discovered you'd been singing along oblivious to your faux pas?
@MotherFist Yes, Jolene - until quite recently I would sing "your beauty is beyond compare, with flaming locks of auburn hair and fiery spinning eyes of evergreen"...
@MotherFist haha. I'm sure I've got a few of those, can't remember any at the moment will have a think. Obviously sang 'Sue Lawley' in place of 'So Lonely' but deliberately so I don't think that counts.....
@MotherFist@Astromonkey@PartyTearsFew@MadameZia That's weird!! I was just talking about 'mis-heard lyrics on @BladeRunner 's page today with @aberrantanna ! I used to sing along to The Police's "message in a bottle" with..."A year has passed since I broke my nose....I should have blown it right from the start".... hahaha!!
@MotherFist@Astromonkey@PartyTearsFew@MadameZia As for the "song entwined with memories"....that's where all my stories come from! Every jam I post seems to have some vivid memory linked to it :-)
@MadameZia Classic! I used to sing "Spare him his life with this one sausagie" (as he was obviously hungry) @debutch haha that's excellent I shall only sing that lyric from now on!
@debutch@MadameZia@Astromonkey@PartyTearsFew Wonderful. Thanks for sharing your lyrical misinterpretations. So, we're finally facing the last seven days of TIMJ. I haven't planned my swan songs yet. Need to get my thinking cap on...
@MadameZia Your daughter has the excuse that she actually is five years old. I have no such armour to defend my honour. Anyhoo, I shall await your choices with keen interest x x
@BladeRunner Hi Jessica. Thank you for your kind words. I tore a bit of a strip off him for his comment. If two or three jammers are having a good chat on my post, it's to be celebrated not challenged, even if they're having the conversation without directing the comments to everyone else who has commented. It took him ages to reply and, of course, it was stated that both you and I had misinterpreted the comment. If two people get the impression that they've been both dissed, then they have! x
@BladeRunner Anyway, I gave him the benefit of the doubt after he offered the weakest of apologies "I'm sorry if you misunderstood", as it's not good to have one's dirty laundry 'out there'. I suspect that I made my point that rather than dropping a passive aggressive bomb into a conversation, just get involved in the conversation too if you feel you're missing out on the fun! It was kind of you to contact me and I hope you're okay too x

@debutch My life is mapped out by the music I was listening to. I'm sure it's the same for a lot of folk on TIMJ.
MadameZia
@MotherFist I'm totally with you there x
Astromonkey
@debutch @MadameZia @MotherFist Yes, nearly every song has a memory attached, especially stong on the younger years

@MotherFist the only one that readily springs to mind is 'Beelezebub had a cupboard put aside for me' from Bohemian Rhapsody...
