This is from his Storm Front album, hence the tornado.
I have these silly rules for myself playing in TIMJ. One of them is "never pick songs from the same artist twice." Not too long ago someone asked me who my favorite musician was, and Billy Joel came out of my mouth before I even thought about it. So I reserve the right to break this rule of mine again. If I allowed myself, I'd jam nothing but Billy Joel songs in here until I went through his entire discography, then I'd just start over again. So I'm trying to be frugal. His work has been a big part of my life's soundtrack, especially my high school and college years.
After last week's jam, where I played Lindsey Buckingham's "I Go Insane," I have to follow that up with this one. Joel has admitted in the past this song was intended as an apology to his ex-wife Christie Brinkley. Like me and Lindsey Buckingham, Billy Joel's had women in his life that drove him crazy. Who hasn't?
What's your favorite Billy Joel song(s)?
