@simonp Mine too! We will be in Kintra North-Western coast of the Ross of Mull. It consists of a small row of houses by the sea shore - bliss!! I adore West Coast Scotland as after moving up to Carlisle in 1993 ish we became Outer Hebrides/Mull/Iona/Skye addicts and went at every opportunity. I haven't been able to get back there for 11 years so this feels very special. Sad that we can't stay longer though. My kids are nature crazy like me so I'll be able to go otter, dolphin, whale, cave.......
@simonp..spotting etc. would love some insider info if you have any. Thanks! Been to Mull only once before - popped to Iona on that occasion but it was a flying visit. Rambling on a bit as almost as enthusiastic about it as music :)
@abigail.deeks Glad you enjoyed it. I had a search around for this as I saw it on here first, I can't remember who jammed it but I think it was you? If so thanks! Glad you are not saying goodbye on here just yet x
@BertrandRustles agreed. I came a bit late to the SR party after hearing it in the film 127 hours and there are tons of tunes out there I'm pleased to discover.
@PartyTearsFew I was lucky enough to have a young designer working with me a decade or so ago when the first album came out and she had great taste so I'd let her choose the music most of the day. She played the first album constantly for about a month until I knew every note and I never looked back. Such beauty in all their work.
If you're on Mull, you gotta get to Calgary Bay. Right in the northwest of the island. One of the most beautiful beaches in Scotland (anywhere in the world really!) and if you take the back road via Achnacraig you get amazing mountain/island/loch scenery en route). I was on the beach last summer in 25 degree heat (though I can't be held responsible if it's not like that when you're there!)
We were on Iona last month (well, we did name our daughter after the island!) and it's so beautiful. Tranquil and the beaches at Back Bay are lovely. The Abbey is captivating (even for an atheist like myself). Mull is surprisingly big though (with largely single-track roads) so you'll need to allow plenty of time to get anywhere.
@simonp that's fantastic info thanks very much. So many stunning beaches we've been to up there but not been to Calgary. That's on the list, don't care what the weather's like, well...a bit maybe, but will still be awepic as kids would say. Iona also a must, will try to find that perfectly named Bay. To return the favour, don't know if you've been to Harris yet but we stayed on a beach called Luskentyre and it is in the same league. If you ever go, head for that. Off to find another Ocean tune..
@simonp Apparently it was 20 years ago we went to Mull/Iona!!! We did walk to the edge of BBO before having to turn around to catch the ferry back to Mull. Thanks again :)

Actually the beach I'm thinking of is officially called the Bay at the Back of the Ocean. Great name huh?
