Loved this when I posted it a few months back, loved it when someone or other posted it last week and still lovin' it today...we are all 2000 light years from home, Phylsta'... ;-D
Many years ago they played this in concert (Philadelphia 1989) with the weirdest psychedelic light-show and a friend of mine turned to me and said "If I was on acid right now I'd be curled up in a ball."
A favourite Stones' album @Phyl, I never tire of it.
Re: Wonderwall at 16&2/3 RPM ------- It was originally a mandated format for ‘talking books’ ow.ly/PzacD and later on, there was the Seeburg System ow.ly/Pzd5N ( what we would now call Muzak ) and Chrysler's ultra-microgroove Highway Hi-Fi.
@paulgdaly. Ah, fond memories I trust. :) Here's the original video that's perhaps also more reminiscent of those far off hazy lazy acid daze. :) https://youtu.be/uSR5A--rSOs
@roamin. Thanks for those links, they're great! What a fascinating subject! Have you got a Seeburg 1000 then? I imagine they're incredibly rare, from the asking price on that link! :) I've often thought that with today's advances in plastics, lasers & digital doo-dahs, it ought to be possible to make a new & improved version of 'Vinyl' records that could play at slower speeds with finer grooves & be portable too. I wish someone would have a go at it, coz CD's are crap! :)
@paulgdaly. Good 'clip'. I think you'd have needed to be on acid to have been overwhelmed though. :) Sadly, they seem to get worse at it as time goes by. This is Glastonbury 2013 ! https://youtu.be/i9BnbAKodjA
The masters of live shows are the Floyd of course. Friend of mine fainted at one of their shows, overwhelmed by the intensity of the light show ! https://youtu.be/VZbM_MIz4RM This was '83 I think, but definitely pre 2007.
@Phyl I did my homework Sir, and found the alternative versions very cool, which means it must be a pretty cool song, and the original is the coolest of the cool...
@ErnieBilko Well done EB, you get a gold star! :) Good point you make tho, maybe it's the mark of a good song, that it can be covered in various ways, & still sound good. :)

@cbinseoul, @ErnieBilko, @21schizoid, @paulgdaly & @roamin. Did a bit of toobin & found that there've been quite a few covers of this. Here are a couple of different takes on it https://youtu.be/CjzJn93e3Vs & https://youtu.be/PenrNND6Df4 & here's a charming, almost spoof version https://youtu.be/fzTA99vA_7g :) It was also covered by the fabulously named 'Colonel Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade' ! Sadly, I couldn't find it on the toob.

@Phyl this is the tour in '89-90 and you get an idea of the light show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ObJrWpmjSI
