Great performance. Al Green is one of the standards I've never bothered familiarizing myself with beyond a few of their most popular hits. I like everything I've heard, but I've always been put off a little when it comes to the legendary artists you're supposed to worship even though there are several I love because I was submersed in their music at a young age. That said, I need to listen to more of his stuff. I never even knew about the Soul Mates.
@shiningsun2k I understand!!! An example for me is Diana Ross - She has had some FABULOUS music but the songs were always bigger than her voice. To me she never had the pipes to fit the song - A perfect example is "I'm coming out" by Nile Rogers - I always hoped someone with more power like a Patti Labelle would have sung that song - and there are others but Diana was in the right place and "with" the right people at the right time.
@SheRa Must say yes,I remember I found one live performance of the song How can you mend a broken heart....it was so beautiful and touching.If I find it I promise I'll post it :)
