I loved the Cocteau Twins - I remember the first time I heard Liz Fraser, singing Song to the Siren with This Mortal Coil which was being played in Picadilly Records in Manchester. It was straight after my interview for uni, on my way back to the train station, and I bought the album there and then. Later, when I saw her singing on TV - those eyes, that face! - I was mesmerised. Heaven or Las Vegas and Blue Bell Knoll were my soundtrack to my 20s.
