I don't want to limit him to a finest moment because everything he did is his best in my opinion. Hell yeah I have heard that version! 'Unforgiven' has a completely different vibe from Last Goodbye, it's wonderfully raw and to hear that along with the complete version is fantastic.
Not only a fabulous singer, but Jeff also wrote some extraordinary songs. I cried like mad when I first heard the Grace album. I cried even more when he died. Absolutely shocking.
You're right. Most know him only for his singing of Hallelujah. Of course his voice is phenomenal but Grace has originals that really tested me musically, if that makes sense. They are so mysterious and need you to listen to them over and over (which was going to happen anyway) to really grasp and understand them. I cried too. Have you heard anything of Sketches For My Sweetheart The Drunk? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0_pFAh6cbw I was 1 when he died. At least I shared the earth with him.
@BeeBee Likewise! Have you heard his cover of Led Zeppelin Night Flight? Oh my dear lord I think I love it more than the original, and as you can tell by my username, I love Zeppelin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1lGKsNgZZg
@MsMoMusicPlease As did I. Wow you will never understand how envious I am of. You really saw him live? In the flesh? I am crying. When did you see him? What venue? What did he play!?
