The whole album is wonderful @debutch I was lucky enough to see Nusrat twice, once at a festival and once in a concert hall. Myself and my partner at the time were the only non asians in the audience. I remember being asked 'how can you understand what he's singing about'. It really didn't matter.
@adrian4acn You're absolutely right. Nusrats' voice was like a beautiful instrument to me. I never needed to know what he was singing about. A good friend of mine, originally from Pakistan , looked at me in awe when he realised that I had 4 albums by Nusrat. He believed he was a secret to western ears! One of the greatest quwwali singers of all time, you and your partner were so lucky to see him sing before his death.
