Mallet Guitars Three - Fourth Movement by Ex Easter Island Head

“I went to see this group of three musicians on Saturday night. The venue was a small independent gallery space in Nottingham. They are based in Liverpool and as far as I know have made four albums of music. They played a single piece of music called '22 Strings' for 45 minutes. They used three main guitars (very few effects), one bass and a small drum kit. They play the guitars with drum mallets and sticks, using a third bridge / metal rod to tune the guitars on the neck, beating on the guitar body or strings. Its hugely skilled and rehearsed and completely unlike anything I've watched before. Follow the track link to their Bandcamp page. Fascinating euphoria and highly recommended.”
