I'm not sure which album it was on originally. I've got it on Electropura. But I love this song with its mention of so many 60's English fimstars...I'm not sure there are many that mention Eleanor Bron!
@andrewsjason They are a band I avoided because the name convinced me they would be earnest Spanish guitar players - tho' I'm not sure now why this would have been a bad thing! It's totally down to @freemorphene jamming 'Blue Line Swinger' that I love them now. Glad you liked them, too :)
@alisonsghost Oh I didn't mean to say this put me to sleep, I was already napping when Electropura came on (CD changer, I guess, we're talking mid-Nineties here), and in my semi-sombulant state the album suddenly opened up to me when before it was too hermetic and austere.
aw, lol at YLT being earnest Spanish guitar players :) when this album came out i remember wondering who eleanor bron was but there was no GIS in those days. had to go to the library!
Finally found some time to listen to your jam properly. And I'm REEEAAALLYYY glad I did. That's great. Loved the bah-bahs in the background expecially!
@freemorpheme This band were always being touted as similar to The Clientele, as was Camera Obscura who are a bit floppy for me. Add imaginary Spanish guitars and it was never going to happen!! Thanks to you it did :) The irony is that Amor de Dias the group that now contains half The Clientele is full of Spanish guitars and very floppy :)
@lucathequietone I'm glad you liked it. Find a track called 'Blue Line Swinger' by them, it's on Spotify. It's sensational. That was the track that got me into them. It was jammed by the person just above you :)

To the 2 people who listened to 'Sea Sick' by Love Is All; thanks for your courage:)

I didn't get this album until one day it played during my afternoon nap. After that everything was obvious.

I keep telling myself I need to hear more of them because I love what I've listened to so far.
Matan
@AlicejustMay You won't regret it. Brilliant live too.
Matan
@alisonsghost The video to this is cute too.
alisonsghost
@thisismymistake Rudeness!! Well it might have been :) That's the way I feel about more than 4 tracks of Mazzy Star :)
alisonsghost
@AlicejustMay It really helps to run one on the lyrics sites at the same time - I thought they were sort of cheerful surf music before I did :)
alisonsghost
@Matan I'm afraid I was in a hurry and just went for the first track that worked! I was also glad to see so much of their stuff on youtube.

@thisismymistake That's what I thought you meant, but then doubt crept in...:)

@freemorpheme ....Eleanor Bron is in A Clockwork Orange. Love what they did to Beethoven in that film.

I was put off by their name too - but the stuff I've heard ahas bben really good!!!
alisonsghost
@lindatee I'm either put off by names or buy things I've never heard because they've got great cd covers, and then find I hate them :)
lindatee
@alisonsghost It's quite a good way of getting new music though - I'm likely to play an interesting title
