@tilapia i know what you mean. i don't think this song should be hopeful...it sounds borderline apocalyptic to me. the joy division peel session is one of the best ive ever heard, but the closer version of this song, imo, is utterly perfect @spewish i find allmusic useful enough of the time, but like anyone, when they're wrong, they're wrong.
@btener All Martin Hannett's productions are perfect :-) I like the Peel Session version because its flawed. I think this is Joy Division's least hopeful song; "Looked beyond the day in hand, there's nothing there at all"
