Having said that, they were just magpies even from the start... I'd never suggest their original ideas were their OWN original ideas. But a classic band, once.

@Bukowski True... I find the "She's A Rainbow"/"She Comes In Colors" a bit hard to take, too.

Degoedel

Quite Psychedelic. It was unexpected for me. I did not know this side of the Stones.

@FoureyesAlex @Degoedel Yes, if you check out the album "Their Satanic Majesty's Request" (plus the single We Love You, with John and Paul on backing vocals) it'll contain everything from this phase of their career, Degoedel. Oh, and the single Dandelion.

Don't get me started on debates, Rich! Great Jam. I threw this one out myself, a few months ago. well received I recall. It's so not The Stones (outside of their wee psychedelic 'trip')...inspired by The Beatles dabbling, one suspects. Love that whole album, actually...

@21schizoid Yeah, it does have an embarrassing whiff of "follow the leader" about it, but I think they do well, and the album's underrated. A lot of good stuff on it. And I saw the posts on your page (watched Ace of Wands for the first time last year, great show) and followed the talk to THAT debate. That got heated quickly... I was tempted to rejam it just for giggles, but didn't want to ruffle any feathers.

@richcallaghan Totally agree, Rich. Hugely underrated album. As for er, that...just someone that needed fixin'...I have no problem with a wee debate...none at all...but that was simply not on. We don't need it on this forum, it's fine as it is. Anyway, I think I've nailed it now (lost patience) and it seems others agree. Now sporting a nice shiny TIMJ sheriff badge, so look out, pardner... ;-D

@richcallaghan Forgot to say, well done on watching Ace. No idea what the shelf date for serendipity is, but my post and your viewing seems...serendipitous! Proper 70s kids TV I reckon. None of yer dumbed down garbage there, squire...

@21schizoid Yeah, some of it was really quite dark and twisted for kid's TV, the lady with the substitute kids in a doll's house and stuff. It was actually slightly before my time, it ended the month before I was born, and no repeats means it seems to be fairly obscure these days.

Problem is, the first two series are just gone, so there's only the third and final series left on DVD. We've lost so much great stuff, pre-digital age. I was 13 when it was shown, so the mists of time have taken care of much of my memories, but that theme tune has always stayed with me...

Try Blinded by Rainbows 1994 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djfSvI043dI This is about the conflict in Northern Ireland. The title refers to the people fighting for something without regard for its consequences. Recorded in Dublin.

This is now my most popular jam, though in fairness I've got more followers than before.
