@grumpy You're welcome! I was trying to sponsor him (it says on his site you still can) but I can't get the damn thing to work. Hoping to see him in Portland this August. I agree with you on GB, love most of their work, a couple of songs leave me scratching my head a bit...
@21schizoid If I could take half of the album Veckatimest and the other half of Shields, I would have a perfect album of all my favorites. They are defiantly worth checking out!
LOVE Grizzly Bear. Finally saw them in concert last summer at the beautiful outdoor venue of Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture park in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The wealthier/snobbier season pass holders sometimes ruin shows for others there, but not this time and the weather couldn't have been better. http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/04Ma0dixtn4/maxresdefault.jpg
@shiningsun2k wow fantastic photo, it looks like your seats where perfect..soooooo jealous! (now its my turn to be jealous). The venue and the weather look beautiful.
I am trying..to get eagles tickets when they go on sale, they are touring this summer. They are the one band I really feel I have/want (its a need really, not a want) to see.
Thank you, but I must disclose that it's not my pic. I just did a Google image search 'cause I figured there had to be a some pics out there. I do have some of my own, but I was too lazy to upload them. Our "seats" consisted of a spot on the nice grassy hill where we laid our blanket down. We were pretty close though and we could get up and walk to whatever we wanted pretty much to take a pic.
Ugh, I got a Ticketmaster newsletter saying the Eagles are coming to a nearby Arena in September, but it was almost sold out already when I looked up tickets and the cheapest were nosebleed seats way off at a terrible angle for about $100. There ware still several close-to-the-stage floor seats available for $450 though. I'm with you though, I NEED to see them, too and I spent no less than an hour last night before bed watching live performances from their prim in the '70s on YouTube.
@shiningsun2k mmmm, love it!! thanks for the link~ So, with the Eagles I am in the same boat.. they haven't gone on sale yet...My hubby says I should just be happy with the Farewell 1 tour from Melbourne.. idk.. still hoping for the lottery win.. played last night with Eagle tickets (among other things) in mind.. one can dream, right?
@teen@lynn200 so glad you both enjoyed, one of the things I love about TIMJ is discovering new music, it nice to be able to return the favor to you two.

Thanks for the heads up on the new album from Halcombe, wasn't aware of it. And Grizzly Bear are of course terrific most of the time.

Okay, I had to look it up -- do you have the video (or DVD) or did you actually attend that Farewell show in Melbourne? I only found out about the History of the Eagles documentary last night and I intend to grab that as soon as possible. http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/History-of-The-Eagles-Parts-1-and-2-Blu-ray/67884/
