@MyBlueElephant Perhaps. I've known I've liked his music, certain songs in particular, and that his albums are very good, but not made enough effort to listen fully and regularly. It's probably laziness. I think Spotify has stopped me appreciating music to a degree, because there is too much to give full attention to any of it. But then it has helped me appreciate music more because it has allowed me to broaden my tastes and interests so much. It's sad really, perhaps I'm missing out on a lot.
@justinedulhaust You're welcome.
@teen Me neither, which is rare for me.
@leadbutterfly I like to think that because he had only three albums it makes them more special and not tainted by any later mistakes, but in reality I do wish he'd been able to make more music.
@Bukowski It's a shame there aren't many more like him.
@cjn22 I must admit with the advantage of age I have a collection of CD and Vinyl which I treasure but the music that I listen to daily is either on my mp3 player or laptop. CDs for long drives sometiems but my vinyl rarely gets played. I agree it is all horribly expensive!
@abigail.deeks Because I have Spotify I only buy music when it's not on Spotify, which means my CD collection is small and mostly stuff that I don't listen to anymore. It means I have few decent MP3s and nothing physical to show my interest and taste in music, which is a shame. Hopefully one day I'll be able to dedicate a wall to books, a wall to DVDs, and a wall to CDs, then I'll know I've been successful in life.
@cjn22 I tend to do the Spotify thing... the one thing I do possess in quantity is books - around 3,000 accumulated over the course of 30 years; and I know where to find any of them. I only really ever buy 2nd hand the thrill of an out-of-print Ballard or something is indescribable. That aside, my belongings are pretty modest. :)
@AlicejustMay I'm glad it isn't just me then. Wow, that's impressive! Have you read them all? I have quite a large pile of books, but have only read about ten so far. I tend to regularly visit charity shops and buy any books that I know I should read, even if I won't get around to reading them. Modest is good. To be able to slowly expand a music, DVD, & book collection is all I ask from any future success I achieve.

Sometimes you need to leave good music to realise how beautiful (sometimes timeless) it is. Nick Drake's music is a perfect example :)

Bryter Layter is my favourite and I think because he only left us with three albums it makes them even more special.
cjn22
@abigail.deeks Will you be getting the remastered vinyl boxed edition of Bryter Layter when it comes out?
abigail.deeks
@cjn22 When is it coming out? On vinyl would be great my copy is on CD, only my Pink Moon is on vinyl. Thanks for letting me know :)

@abigail.deeks The end of April it seems: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFtOzZy6p98 I keep feeling like building up some sort of CD/vinyl collection, but all the nice stuff is expensive unfortunately.
