Did they die on the same day by coincidence, or by (e.g.) tumbling off the edge of Reichenbach Falls locked in mortal combat? This was a big part of my early childhood...
@labracoon@BertrandRustles Too late. Just downloaded it from iTiunes. £8.99 also gets you Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra. That's my 7yo's classical education sorted
@LadyGulag Turns out I jammed Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf (Disney version) last August 11. It appears I left it up for a half hour as it had only one listen, and that was likely me.
@labracoon I've done that many a time. I think long and hard most days about what my next Jam will be. I have the next 3 planned out already but sometimes I get caught by the fever of something I'v heard just before it's time to change Jam, so I Jam it and then regret it an hour later!

My dad used to play this to me all the time as a nipper. Fond memories.

@LadyGulag You can't appreciate the bright green vinyl from this, and my LP cover is different, but here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpoizq-jjxs

@labracoon Ha. Me too. It was already a tremendous piece. Bowie was the icing on the delicious Prokofiev cake!

@BertrandRustles @labracoon perhaps one of you fine gents would consider the Bowie version as a future Jam then?
simonp
@BertrandRustles @labracoon @labracoon ooh, now that sounds too good to be true
BertrandRustles
@simonp in truth Dave was being a bit 'actory' but you know, we Bowie fans forgive him anything right?

@LadyGulag Nice idea.

@LadyGulag I jammed it maybe six months ago. Maybe longer. Would have to look at my history through spotify.

Every year most symphonies include this in their children's performance! I've probably worked/heard it 15 times! Still enjoy it.
