I always think of Velvet Underground and Joy Division together in that they're two iconic bands I wasn't interested with at first because so many of my friends and other people loved them that I wrote them off as trendy. I was a kid then and I've since heard about ten songs from each that I really like, but I still haven't heard a single album from either in its entirety. Anyway, I'm very envious of you having gotten to see them, but very happy you did as well.
@shiningsun2k Pleased you're getting around to appreciating them. They're not everyone's cup of tea but I know what you mean about the "trendy wagon"...there ARE some people who jump on it without knowing why....
@abigail.deeks I was more excited about the Velvets at the time because they were legendary at that time. When I saw Joy Division ( just after the release of "Unknown pleasures") they were just beginning to attract attention & the adulation was yet to come. I DID get a much better view of JD though with Ian Curtis doing his "mania dance" right before me.
