Always available to wee on your foot if needed!!
Oh no @debutch thats horrid. Although it does remind me of a time at a concert where a friend of mine weed on a water bottle during a concert. He closed the lid, put it by his feet and later on in the evening it disappeared, only to reappear an hour later. (A group of teenagers thought that it was alcohol and were taking swigs of it).
Great jam but a grim story :(
As if the wet weather wasnt bad enough as it was....
Haha! Love to hear folks' gig experiences!
@BeeBee Thank you BB That would've completed my evening!
@kirsten1 haha! Serves them right! :-)
@Sid_Bonkers Oh yeh, I forgot that! It Rained too! ..not a gig to remember with fondness!...
@ElizaJane I VERY rarely come away from gigs unscathed! :-)
Haha @debutch ! I nearly lost my specs at a Madness gig years ago, I was bopping about and they fell off !
@ElizaJane You were lucky. With everyone around doing the "Madness Stomp", you could easily have had them crushed to smithereens! :-)
I was lucky to retrieve the @debutch I was like Thelma from Scooby Doo "my glasses!"
Ugh, c'mon people. I know it's a concert and concerts are supposed to be wild, but still. I'd say that's worse than when people were throwing lit matches around a gig I attended years ago.
I was there too, fortunately didn't get pelted with piss, but there certainly were lots of people seriously off their little faces
@thomarse @shiningsun2k Well I wasn't exactly a little angel at gigs when I was young but doing something like that is just vile, isn't it?
Totally gross, but given the state of some of them that night, it hardly surprises me. I'm pleased I stayed a bit further back for Blur now!
sorry about the pee-pee incident:) Live gigs so full of the unexpected - even when it's gross:)
Hate to raise the issue, but I remember a considerable amount of gobbing at one gig in the early 80s annoyingly I can't remember the band I saw. I reckon I was at Friars, Aylesbury.
@ElizaJane Aylesbury? I wonder if @philipnareike had anything to do with it? ( Phil's from there, you see Liz! :-) )......It wasn't the John Otway Band, was it? ( He's from there too! )
I don't remember seeing the John Otway Band, but I grew up in Aylesbury. If I remember the band I'll let you know!
@ElizaJane I remember some punk gigs in the late 70s where there were so much gobbing going on that I ( usually down the front catching a lot of it on my head) used to get home to find that it had "set" into my hair making it hard like plastic! Gross, eh?....I started wearing a hat at gigs after that......
@lesakramer5 Oh, I've been through the 'Punk Wars' alright! ...(just like in the comment to Liz, above ).....something always happens to me at gigs..:-)
EEEeeeuuuugh! :-P I did the the Stranglers somewhere, maybe that was it.
(shouting) HEY Phil!!! @philipnareike .....Do you know Liz? ( @ElizaJane ) ...You MUST do! Aylesbury's only a little village, isn't it?
@debutch. yes it does so many stories so many live gigs so many incredible near death experiences lol
@lesakramer5 ....and the world will hear them ALL.............when we write our book... ;-)
@debutch - the Book! I have to travel for 3 hours for my job will be back on line Friday Sat-ish:)
Blur has been my son's most favorite band.
I remember Knebworth 1985 with bottles flying everywhere, bleedin' disgustin'...put me off for life
@whiffoself I suddenly feel very old now! :-)
@ErnieBilko Well, we can tell our Grand Children about how we fought in the punk wars.... :-)
@lesakramer5 You're so busy!! OK Lesa, standing by , waiting... :-)
@debutch you have to work your butt in America- middle class my ass- slave culture:)
@debutch @philipnareike Well that would be a laugh, but sorry I don't remember a Phil from back then.. I went to an all-girls school and didn't know many boys until I left school and moved away in '82 lol! btw I think the Stranglers gig was Bournemouth.. my memory.. shocking
@lesakramer5 You sound like you're up for the challenge...go girl! :-)
@ElizaJane Aw, that's a shame! I've always hoped to accidentally bump into someone I used to know on TIMJ but it hasn't happened yet and I thought I may be about to witness a TIMJ event there! :-) .....Phil ( @philipnareike ) seems to be a bit busy somewhere...maybe he'll turn up here later. :-)
@debutch @ElizaJane although I was born in Aylesbury I lived in tring a few miles away as a kid. ..used to go to Aylesbury the big town for shopping...
@debutch @philipnareike I lived in Whitchurch out the other side. I remember Tring museum with all the stuffed animals lol!
@ElizaJane Yes,that Museum is wonderful....there was every animal under the sun there...I used to be in there all the time as a kid..remembered fondly...remember the famous dressed Mexican fleas? :)
