The visual reminds me of Alexander Calder with serious Surrealist overtones. I like.

I love OK Go's videos. I mean, their music is really good, but their videos are amazing!

Have you seen the marching band version?

@kim_younjin I have, it's marvellous. Even the one where they march through the streets of, I think, Rio 'promoting' their concert is so endearing...

@dutchzaphod: On a completely unrelated note (ha), let's go wandering through the streets of France! [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jc3ZAs17uAg]

I wonder if they got their inspiration from Pitagora Suichi (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NERb1gUXoIs). It was a japanese children show full of these Rube Goldberg devices (albeit on a smaller scale). It also featured a japanese comedy duo doing an Algorithm Dance (this is the best video I can find of them, there used to be more: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xD6I8tMfecY).

Nice examples, but there are so many clips about 'chain reaction' out there that I doubt if you can single one out as an inspiration point for the guys...
