@dutchzaphod What an amount of work. I share a lot of your list (the content, not the order) (I'd throw in Queen, Procupine Tree and more Dream Theater and ambient rock)
PT and DT are in the waiting room, somewhere around 1300 :) The problem is that "restricting" myself to 1000 songs makes it virtually impossible to accomodate the odd 50 years of listening to music...And apart from the, let's say, top 200 the "order' is somewhat arbitrary.
@dutchzaphod Btw, what do you think of "Metropolis Pt. 2"? I feel it's a really underrated album. For me it's in the top 5 albums (as a full album). I have to make that top 10 albums list!
Never listened to it in it's entirety. On our amateur radio station my fellow music lovers from time to time have played parts of it. Now is a good time as ever to listen to it. I'll get back to you on that one. :)

On an entirely different note: this morning my wife and I have been planning our "yearly" visit to our beloved Spain. (yearly is in brackets because on average it's more on a half year basis). It doesn't matter where we end up; from El Port de la Selva to Ayamonte and all the inland (yet to discover Galicia though). This autumn we went to the Northern part of Comunitat Valencia, and of course my favourite city Valencia. Now we're looking at Nerja, Salobrena and Granada. Mostly fourth revisits :)
@dutchzaphod Sorry, but I had to disconnect the other day. I really want to go to the Netherlands also. Probably Amsterdam. If you usually go to Spain I recommend you to go to the Basque Country. I'm from that part and the landscape is really good.
I could not tune in last Sat, but I'll do tomorrow from the office. Thanks for the advice!
