I've never been a big fan of the albums I've heard all the way though, but Big Yellow Gun is one of the other Throwing Muses songs that I like, while Pearl (from Red Heaven) is also rather great.
Well it's those first albums which I love, the first album is called 'In A Doghouse' now, it was just Throwing Muses. The other early albums: Hunkpapa, House Tornado and The Fat Skier are all really strong, sometimes awkward, masterpieces.
So that's why I couldn't find the first album on spotify. Seemed odd that it wasn't there. I guess it was reissued as it's showing as released on 1998, to add to the confusion. Thanks; they're all on spotfiy so I'll revisit them soon.
I'm fairly take or leave it about most of the Breeders stuff, but that's one of their songs that I do like (just to be awkward, Head to Toe is my favourite Breeders song, but I'm not sure that's even strictly a Breeders song as Jo Wiggs later released a version with her own band as well so I guess it's not a Kim song). I should give Pod another listen as well. Has been years since I've heard that.
@PaulGroom Seems that I'm particularly amenable to the Breeders today. Enjoyed the two original albums (and EPs from that time) a lot more today than I had for some time.
@PaulGroom I think awkward masterpiece is an apt description for Hunkpapa! My
favourite Throwing Muses record, love the early stuff but then i am quite
awkward minded!

Ahh shadowy and classy Kristen.... and Tanya looks like the sexiest thing on the planet at that moment. Very good.

Of course, I need to go and listen to their albums now.

@PaulGroom, is there a particular album you'd recommend? I think I may have only really heard the Real Romana , Red Heaven and University throughout.

... if you like this song, then listen to the The Breeders 'Fortunately Gone' which is also breezy, poppy and great.
