track 2 of one of my favorite jazz albums, Money Jungle. Super weird stuff for Ellington (as far as I know from my limited jazz knowledge). Anyway, this is the most beautiful moody track on the recording. The bass is awesome and pushes the whole thing in such a clever way. The presence and feel of all of the instruments is just so warm and close.
I head to bed on the heels of one of my favorite late night Duke Ellington meditations. With Mingus and Max Roach floating beside him. Night.
