Wrote this when she was sixteen. Amazing first album-but not my favourite, which would be New York Tendaberry.

Laura's voice sends a chill up my spine! Why wasn't she a big star in her era? So many songs that were hits for others, her talent was cut short much too early due to cancer.

Having just rediscovered Ms. Nyro after many years of dormancy is quite nice, indeed.
Lovely woman, brilliant songwrither, lost her way too soon. Love this song.

Barbra Streisand's cover of this song is a bouncy belter and incredible, but this original version is just astounding. When Laura Nyro sings it, it's one of the saddest songs I've ever heard. But in a good way. #LauraNyro
