X-Ray Spex #MyABCofPunk letter X. The late Poly Styrene (another who went far too soon) lived in my (until recently) home town of Hastings. I didn't have to put any thought into the band or the track for this one... superb live and along with The Slits and Siouxsie, British female punk icons.

Terrific song, but Poly Styrene soon soured on the the idea of being a pop star, and having to "perform" on shows like "Top of the Pops" is probably one reason why.   4
