Brazilian funk via Tarrytown. My fave album of 2012: World Psychedelic Classic Vol. 4

Tim Maia (1942-1998) was an amazing brazilian soul-singer. In the mid-seventies he joined a cult and, influenced by it, made one of his finest albums: "Racional". The lyrics are total nonsense, but the music is worth it. This song exemplifies it well.

Tim Maia's a grandaddy of the Brazilian soul/funk sound. Here's why.

This one is special: my favourite Brazilian singer, on my 2nd jamiversary... And it's my 200th jam!!! I wanted to use this video http://youtu.be/u5KEJc-pODE , but the audio is so poorly mixed, it's almost unfair to Tim Maia's voice... I really recomend it though cause it's rare footage of a live performance, at the top of his game in the mid 70's, singing 4 of his biggest hits back then. To known a bit more on Tim Maia: https://vimeo.com/41878872  Hope you enjoy it!!!   96
