From the promo film "Love You till Tuesday", this very simplistic tune is accompanied by what I think is an extraordinary visual performance by its writer - far more sophisticated than should be expected from an artist still struggling to make it in any part of the business, as he was then.
Although this track featured in the film and on a few early (and then, later, unofficial!) albums, it was not a standout track on any of his LPs, and certainly got nowhere near being an A or B side single release. As an interesting oddment, though, it makes an enjoyable diversion, and gives an insight into his burgeoning talent. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_You_till_Tuesday_%28film%29
this really gets in..personally and grand kids...age is a fantasy....everything will be fine when i'm 5....Bowies acting ability was so obvious here..you find the most obscure stuff.....wonderful...thx
So glad you jammed it, Lee. It's so delicious. The lyrics are wonderful and the violin exquisite. The film is great. Great job.
I thought I had heard pretty much all of DB's Decca/Deram output, but this one appears to have passed me by. It really is a beguiling composition.
A great favourite of mine. As @MsSue_ said, delicious.
Brilliant! Never heard / seen this before. It deserves to be much better known
been talking bout this today.....FB....such an original track...
As above, thought I'd heard them all. Brilliant! My three year old loves it as well...
