Last stop, end of the line. Once again thank you to everyone for the music and the good vibes. It's rare to find such a welcoming place online these days. No arguments just beautiful beautiful music. Let's hope the spirit continues on the alternatives. #lastjam   5

Hola! We have a brand new article up the first of a series exploring the history of the music video. It features The Who, the Stones and this video by The Kinks which we love! All comments and thoughts are gratefully received! :-) http://www.musicvideosdeconstructed.com/2014/07/15/history-of-the-pop-video-pt-1-60s-experimentation/   3

I feel I've been neglecting the 60s with my jams, so I'm making up for it with this sharp antidote to the notion that all was 'swinging' back then

My first favourite band were undoubtedly The Kinks. I still love their stuff and I've always been a Ray Davies fan. In 1973, with money made from sales of 'Lola' and earlier stuff, Ray and Dave Davies opened a new studio of their own in Crouch End, a mile down the road from their home territory of Muswell Hill. They recorded most of their stuff there right up until 1996 when they finally disbanded. Many groups have recorded there, including: The Stone Roses, The Kooks, Blur, Elvis Costello, Steve Winwood, and The Bee Gees. I believe The Animals may have done too. The Fall recently recorded there too. It was at one time to be sold and re-developed, but Ray apparently, still hasn't decided what to do with the place. It's called Konk, and is an interesting place. http://www.konkstudios.com/. Hope you like it. #OddClassics    I could have made the video myself!!!   16
