Madly manic version of a great track by a brilliant band! Quite funny too. :)
Unfortunately I changed my Jam before checking my mails, you'd think I would have learnt by now. :) Anyway, I wanted to respond to your interesting comments about music, the Jam site, spotify etc., but there's not enuff space here. Maybe the Jam team could consider adding a private channel link for such stuff in the next revision... Hmnn... :)
@Phyl i would like an edit option,i think ahead of my my typing,i leave out words..a lot of countries cannot get Spotify.it is still a Brit thinking site, excluding many jammers,.. my private channel is FB,i have people from all over the world---we press translate.. Feeling a bit manic, the jam fitted...it is fun. i didnt say it on your jam, wanted to tell you Strangers on the Shore gives me the same haunting feeling as Ry Cooders-Paris in Texas....:)
@Axol I played Sylvia other day, realized what it was...just kinda carried on from there, cant remember them at the time....totally love the craziness but genius of this..
Thanks lynn. Know what you mean about the edit option, maybe another thing the Jam team can consider for the next revision. Ironically, while I can get spotify, and used to have it, I don't want it. :) It was too assertive, software wise, and I don't like that. See where you're coming from with the Ry Cooder thing, tho that always suggests hot desert to me, whereas Acker always suggests ozone freshness and/or haar. :)
I'll never get tired of watching this video. One of the greatest guitar riffs of all time, although that's not the first thing that comes to mind when you think of this song!
@lynn200 I always thought Thijs van Leer was a crazy man. 40 years on I still think the same, but add "brilliant" to that. There is some talent in there. Cool Jam by the way. Best wishes for the exhibition / delivery of the commissioned art? Just guessing.
@itskerryc you missed Where are all the Flowers Gone,in memory of Anzac:(...supposed to be talking in a radio station today...the horror!...it is a torrent of rain,so rain has stopped play...so another day of nerves. i chose the most extreme version of this i could find...amazing what you sent me the other...it applies* lolzz
@pez Deep Purple talking bout their naughty time in Switzerland,a casino burnt down......Smoke on the Water for ol times sake http://youtu.be/F29H8OJOnvo
@lynn200 I'm sure you blitzed the radio station audience with your style. Sorry I missed your Dietrich post. Well chosen. I clocked through to Spotify and listened. Marlene was an absolute honey, and such a rich strong voice. Laughed @mikelowe comment about her singing "Commie Pete" songs; what a crackup. 1/11/14 is the date the ANZAC's sailed from Oz. 25/4/15 (ANZAC Day) the day that they attacked Turkey, landing on the Gallipoli Peninsula. All very damned sad in retrospect. A generation lost.
@itskerryc it didnt happen..! i saw it all on World, the bigness of it all hit me,there are many here who lost family.Mikes comment was very good, yeh,a crackup. cant get spotify here, like many others, cant play past jams.....thought Marlene did a good show, very emotional at one point, she would have had memories herself...
Very funny performance ( You could imagine a "Muppets" band doing this!)...But also very VERY impressive & entertaining. Great musicians. ( Thijs van Leer was also proven to be a very serious & talented musician)
@debutch eehhh...they where a top Dutch progressive band, with a capital P...I did choose the most extreme version i could find. you know i have a muppets aversion, they have no place on a music site....

This was the one of the first riffs every aspiring guitarist at school learned. That and Smoke On The Water.
