The three songs on this single totally blew me away. Along with The Smiths, Suede had essential b-sides that were as good and sometimes better than the A-sides.

As featured in Brett's alternative tracklist for the debut album, in that big DVD reissue last year. He bunged this in in place of Animal Lover, with Metal Mickey moving back to between The Drowners and Sleeping Pills, and My Insatiable One replacing Moving. "But it was a different time I suppose and there were these things called b-sides which for some reason really mattered to us..."

Those track changes would have improved the debut album certainly, and perhaps given the album a stronger 'all-time classic' status further than the Suede fanbase.( I distinctly remember NME apologetically giving it only 7/10.) However, as an opening salvo, a statement of intent, a sign of possibility, those 3 tracks on that single were like a universe of their own. A classic debut album effectively distilled into only 12 mins. If that's all they'd ever released, they'd still be legendary.

Yeah. And I like Moving anyway.
