Jim has been dead for nearly 43 years. I'm happy for what was, but sad for what could have been. Of all of the talents lost to drugs over decades his death is the one that has endured as the most profound, for me. Always good to see a Doors Jam.

It never ceases to amaze me how awesome Morrison and The Doors were. Now I want to watch the movie again. Have you seen the movie? The Doors starring Val Kilmer? Definitely worthwhile if you haven't.

@shiningsun2k — ditto! Although, much as I love The Doors and Oliver Stone’s pic, I still think—what my wife’s pointed out to me once, and which I cannot disagree with—that Ian Astbury would’ve made so much better Jim. I do not detest Val Kilmer’s take, I can see why he was cast, and he’s done a really good job, but I still can’t really forget it’s a film and an actor playing a musician. An awesome jam nevertheless! Thanks @metallicagirl — one of the greatest bands ever!

@itskerryc — I do agree, but… “You see, I think drugs have done some good things for us. I really do. And if you don't believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a favor. Go home tonight. Take all your albums, all your tapes and all your CDs and burn them. 'Cause you know what, the musicians that made all that great music that's enhanced your lives throughout the years were rrreal fucking high on drugs. The Beatles were so fucking high they let Ringo sing a few tunes.” ~ Bill Hicks

@metallicagirl — I always feel kinda dizzy and slightly intoxicated just by listening to these guys. Which is a rather nice sensation. Thanks for the jam once again.

I loved The Doors so much I read every stinking biogrqaphy, poetry book, band lyric, you name it, I read it about The Doors! Great jam!

@homosporocarpus Ian as Morrison would be something to see for sure. I'd be interested to see how well he could act - he obviously had the looks, sound and state presence for it. That said, The Cult is my favorite band of all time if I had to pick one and I've seen them in concert twice, but I'm bummed I didn't get a chance to see Ian perform on the 21st Century Doors tours.
