@mirnanda @dutchzaphod @deathmtn ...first time i heard this song was on a mix tape a 'native American' gave me in a squat in Camden whist i was trying to score some soap bar twenty five years ago. It appears to be enjoying some kinda renaissance today...

@ZenPyramid @deathmtn @mirnanda As I stated earlier on my own "page", TIMJ is a great way to exchange music and have a good natter about it. And today is an exceptional good day. By the way @monaremlawi I do like your background!

Did they have ANY other hits? I can't think of one other song I know by Focus.

@snit good point! well I know they have another hit called 'Sylvia', not as catchy as this one though. but i am sure that they are in no way a one hit wonder. i'm sure @dutchzaphod will be able to shed some light on that.

@snit In terms of 'hits' Hocus Pocus, Sylvia and House of the King more or less define Focus. But they didn't set out to make hits. They were a kind of 'superband' basically wanting to play together and play gigs. In modern terms I guess you could compare them to Them Crooked Vultures, not musically but simply for the love of playing together. All members did marvelous things before and after the 'best' Focus period of 1971-1973. And hey, good music isn't always about having a hit! :)
