As we all know Nina Simone had her breakthrough with a version of "I Loves You, Porgy" (written by George and Ira Gershwin, published in 1935). This beautiful performance begins with her singing the calls of the "Strawberry Woman and the Crab Man", only to fade into the song we all know and love.
