@Bukowski Yes I think so. But if somebody wanted to argue for Beggar's Banquet or Sticky Fingers or Let It Bleed or Some Girls or Aftermath......well they would have a case wouldn't they? And that's before you remember that the monumental singles from the Sixties aren't on any of these albums.....so let's say from my favorite Stones album, which translates as my favorite album.
@paulgdaly I agree with you completely.
1. Exile On Main Street
2. Let It Bleed
3. Sticky Fingers
4. Beggar's Banquet
5. Aftermath
6. Some Girls
p.s.
thank you for your comment on my PJ Harvey post.
@Sid_Bonkers@mifan86@Bukowski Stone love gents! Exile is one of my sacred texts, one I've been mining for years. I never tire of it. The recent outtakes were "meh" (unlike the Some Girls additions) but that just tells me that they really left nothing on the studio floor. It is a brilliantly realized album.
@paulgdaly You make a very good point about the recent 'outtakes'; I agree that the 'Some Girls' expanded is superb. Let's not forget 'Their Satanic Majesties Request' tee hee.

@Bukowski I hope never to hear an expanded "Satanic Majesties"! My take on that is here http://dalystew.wordpress.com/2009/03/08/sing-this-all-together/
Bukowski
@paulgdaly Agreed. But '2,000 Light Years From Home' is a cracker!
