@Bukowski @lindatee @kemiladashdot It certainly still packs a punch! As the first British punk single I thought it had to be included. I think Rat Scabies is probably my favourite 'punk name' too.

now you mention it he was,,,,their 1st and only album''JUNIOR ANAL'' was a seminal piece of work.....i believe ''STINK'' was the original bass player b4 he went on to form the ''POLICE'' [ you realise we could go on doing this for a very long time as punk has no boundries ]

@kingofmen That's right..their drummer was called Graham Gristle....he knew how to pound the old skins.....best in the business...til he lost his arm in that slaughter house accident....terrible it was.......

Not just one of the greatest punk singles, but one of the greatest singles of any genre.

@philipnareike ...and both legs ,,,he was just a torso in the end , from strokin the skins to head butting the snare and bitting the hi hat , this is how punk was born, old ''STUMPY GRISTLE'' set the bar high, yung uns these days dont know the sacrifices made by the likes of stumpy, just so they can watch their walkperson in stereo

....i think there was a ''FEEL PHLEGM'' [ phlegmbo ] mentioned on the album sleeve notes , did you manage these scions of rythmn and pain,,

@kingofmen They were a good bunch of kids but a handful. Stumpy Gristle later went on to become one of Hawkwind's dancers.....that boy had rhythm.

..i found the comments made in the fascist press about stumpy being little more than a sweating ''WEEBLE'' a bit offensive ,,hes dead now you know , was sitting on a wall with an egg , when they both fell to their doom,, still stumpy and egg in a punk mess on the unforgiving concrete ,,it swhat he would have wanted,,any news on ;TOPES''
