I remember clipping off my coupon, sending in my £1.99, or whatever it was, and playing this to death for the next year. Still have the cassette, but I'm afraid to play it these days, given its likely fragility.
In my world, a lavish reissue on C86 would entail a cassette with a dedicated playing device, let's cal it a "walkman" until we can think of a better name, and one or two bonus cassettes, hand-taped and hand-written, with tracks of bands that should have been included in the first place. Oh, and to placate the audiophiles, let's go with a TDK SA-X 90 tape instead of the standard SA90...
Well, I know that you know that I love this fabulous little tune (though not a PS fan). I'm off to this on Saturday - http://www.seetickets.com/event/nme-c86-the-wedding-present-more/229-the-venue/754710 To celebrate the 3 x CD edition on Cherry Red Records which is out err now. We were at the 'scared to get happy' gig and loved it! This time we are really there for the Weddos, not so many other faves this time. Oh yes, I got the TDK SA-X 90 cheap from my first Sat job at Dixons. £10 Saturday.
Btw BBC6 seems to be doing something marvellous atm re this release - although I might have caught the tail end..... not that I should be taking you away from TIMJ of course :)
Yeah Yeah Noh, Band of Holy Joy at that gig @PartyTearsFew, I'm pretty sure they're obscure enough for me and @thisismymistake. And who wouldn't want to see the Weddoes (again)
@simonp Yeah, (yeah noh) I'm interested to see those also, plus someone called Des!gn singing the songs of The Chesterfields - wish it was The Chesterfields singing the songs of The Chesterfields though, (maybe I should find out who the band members are.....)

@thisismymistake that basically describes my life in 1986. Without the Dolby button pressed in.

@simonp Mine too, except I had a predilection for BASF cassettes...

Track 1, Side 1! To my shame, I had the cassette and I fear it may have been thrown out with the rest of my tapes at some point. What a fool.
