When You're Sad by A.R. Kane

“Somehow the band that bridged the gap between The Jesus and Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine is little more than a footnote in the popular history of shoegaze -- and the history of music in general. There are underrated bands...there are criminally underrated bands...then there's A.R. Kane.”

This actually came out in 1986. My favorite early "shoegazer" anthem!

Badass intro. Rest of the song ain't bad either.

Made a fortune by being the A and R from MAARS, despite not writing Pump Up The Volume (they did the ignored B-side), the original title was You Push A Knife Into My Womb (no-one would press it). Love the line 'the hair on your neck forms a noose around mine'. Great song.
