Cedar Box by Annette Conlon

“It's the late 90s and I'm in Deep Ellum with some friends, including newfound friends The Conlons. Doug and Annette were setting up for what would be an intimate set. My memory blurs as I'd been drinking. Doug was a blur of activity as Annette sat down, tired. I mostly remember the timbre of her voice and her radiant smile. She apologized for her lack of energy. She wasn't feeling well, and it was only acoustic tonight. Some equipment problem. None of us were complaining. She coulda just sat on a stool for an hour and purr into a microphone and we all woulda been happy. They started and if she was still feeling bad, you couldn't tell. She found her jet stream and soared all night. They were "Eden Automatic" back then. Then it was "The Conlons." Now it's.. Annette. https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/cedar-box/id981730432?i=981730615 her new album is "Life, Death, and the Spaces Between." You will not be disappointed. This has been an unsolicited endorsement. This is a jampacked May!”
