A lovely, heart-felt song about a very difficult time... yet another perspective on my many blessings.
Ignore the video that goes with this, it's not the original, which isn't available, and just enjoy the song. If enjoy is the right word!
So many songs tell stories we recognize in some grand scheme, The Edmund Fitzgerald, Kennedy dying, Mr. Bojangles etc.. This song tells a story that is deeply personal - kind of like Suzanne Vega's Luca, but better. More meaningful to me anyway. I have always loved this song for it's combination of sweet melody and melancholy. Also, it plays at the strangest times for me - almost spiritual.
