@MOJOmagazine's June 2005 covermount is titled Mod Club Party and features a soul-heavy smattering of hits from the early to mid-'60s. The top cut is Southern Californian singer Brenda Holloway's "Every Little Bit Hurts," recorded first in '62, when it appeared on a handful of indie labels in the US and UK (Hit, Del-Fi); the version here, though, is the 1964 remake she did for Tamla-Motown. Please forgive the fidelity--good recordings of this song are under lock and key by current owners Warner Music Group. We do what we can here on This Is My Jam!   6

Written by Ed Cobb for Brenda in 1964 she recorded it again when she went to Motown. The song was her 'hook' I love it. #HopeYouLikeIt For another version of this song I recommend this one by Graeme 'Shirley' Strachan of The Skyhooks. This was his first solo single, and it's probably the best cover. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVyJ6mLaSxg #HopeYouLikeIt too #twofers   4
